Historic Railroad Square Association

Historic Railroad Square is a world onto itself. The community has evolved into the perfect walking shopping, dining & entertainment hub. Known here as restaurant & antique row it is also home to Santa Rosa’s Visitors Welcome Center. One of the things that make this quaint neighborhood a pleasure to experience first-hand is the look of it. City planners and builders have stayed true to its origins and the buildings (some of which are landmarks) have been preserved in the turn-of-the-century look in exposed brick walls and inviting storefronts.

The railroad influenced the community in the late 1870’s when the focus of the town was the hustle and bustle of the Depot. The neighborhood today still has that energetic feeling and is alive with activity. Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a passenger rail and bicycle-pedestrian pathway project located in Marin and Sonoma counties. It serves a 70-mile corridor from Larkspur to Santa Rosa, with the main Santa Rosa station being in Railroad Square.

Historic Railroad Square is located on the west side of Hwy. 101 between Third & Fifth Streets & Wilson Street.
