Twinkling light displays have popped up all across Sonoma County to usher in the holiday cheer. From the downtown skating rink to holiday shopping and everything in between, Santa Rosa is bursting with the festive spirit.
Don't know where to head first? We've got you covered. Read on to find out where you can experience the best of Santa Rosa's holiday magic.
Railroad Square
Railroad Square is the historic heart of the downtown and is Santa Rosa’s “Old Town.” Railroad Square was honored with a listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 because of its preservation efforts for restoring and preserving the significant architectural buildings that represent the influence the railroad had on a community. When the first trains arrived in Railroad Square in the 1870s, the focus of the town turned to the hustle and bustle around the Depot. Railroad Square is excited that the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) offers passenger service from Larkspur to Santa Rosa, with the main Santa Rosa stop in Railroad Square. This has made it easy – and fun – for visitors from Marin County and beyond to visit Sonoma County for short trips for shopping, dining, entertainment, and more.
In the heart of the historic district is Whistlestop Antiques or look for hand-spun and hand-dyed greats at Cast Away Yarn Shop.
