Downtown Trick or Treating and Costume Contest
Friday, October 29th | Downtown Santa Rosa
Come dressed in costume and trick or treat at participating* Downtown Santa Rosa stores and restaurants. Kids ages 12 and under, dressed in costume can enjoy a FREE and SAFE way to trick or treat in the light of day. You must be dressed in costume to participate. Plus, enjoy giant inflatable jumpy houses and carnival games courtesy of Bayside Church of Santa Rosa.
*Candy is available from 4 pm - 6 pm, or while supplies last.
Following trick or treating, join in the fun at the costume contest for kids, parents, and even your pet!
Movie Night on the Square

Following the costume contest hang around for a fiendishly good time when Movies on the Square will present, Hocus Pocus, the classic Disney film that features three outlandishly wild witches that return from 17th-century Salem after they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting young pranksters. It’s a night full of zany fun and comic chaos once the tricky 300-year-old trio set out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth…but first, they must get their act together and outwit three kids and a talking cat.
6:30 pm | Remember to bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, and warm coats!

Blind Scream Haunted House is over 20,000 sq. feet of the longest, most fearsome mazes anywhere...this heart-thumping, blood-pumping, walk-through of your darkest nightmares will have you screaming to get out. Your senses will be enlivened by the special effects, lighting and sound, animatronics, unique smells, live actors, and the attention to detail in every room.
Blind Scream is now open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings through Halloween, October 31st. Please note: Blind Scream is not recommended for young children.

25th Annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

The Museum of Sonoma County's 25th Annual Día de los Muertos exhibition opens Saturday, October 16. Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a joyous remembrance of the lives of family members and loved ones who have passed and a celebration of the cycle of life. The holiday is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd throughout Latin America but is more closely associated with Mexico, where it originated. The Museum’s Día de los Muertos exhibition features artwork and altars created by local artists, students, and collectors.
The Museum’s annual Día de los Muertos exhibition features artwork and altars created by local artists and collectors. This year we are proud to feature works made by local Sonoma County students. Artists featured in this year's exhibition include: Maria de Los Angeles, Tracy Ferron, Rubén Guzmán, Nathan Gomez, and Alejandro Salazar, with altars curated by Liz Camino Byers and the City of Santa Rosa’s Multicultural Roots Project.
