Taylor Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve
Taylor Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve is a prominent Santa Rosa landmark, providing panoramic views of the city and distant peaks. The park's 1,100 acres include sweeping grasslands, oak woodlands, several creeks, and habitat for a variety of wildlife. The park has 5.5 miles of unpaved trails and an 18-hole disc golf course.
The park opened in 2013, when ownership was transferred to Regional Parks from the voter-funded Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District. The interim park entrance is just off of Kawana Terrace. A second entrance and trailhead opened along Petaluma Hill Road, south of Yolanda Avenue in 2015. The Petaluma Hill Road entrance includes picnic tables, parking for horse trailers, and a 1.2-mile trail loop with a .2-mile connector to the upper park.
